How many of us have set goals, and get frustrated or irritated in the process of getting there?

We all go through this phase where we are somewhat agitated, whether or not we are calm all the time. It is just that the way we express this agitation and handle it will differ from one individual to another. So what is frustration? When you want something and you don’t get it because of a hurdle, then you get frustrated! Let us note that not all of us get everything we want every time. That implies at some point in life, most of us do get frustrated. Very often, our frustration is because of our expectations. We expect it of ourselves to reach the goal sans hurdles and that’s our biggest problem. So it can arise due to the delay in reaching the goal, or maybe the difficulty. But whatever it is, it entirely is because of our expectations on the challenges
Now how do we learn to manage frustration?

  • Gain knowledge of what your goal is: It is very important to know what our dreams are and what our goals is. Without knowing that you won’t know where you’re going.
  • Know more about the challenges / hurdles that you would have to face to achieve the goal: Once you know your goal, you need to figure out what your challenges and advantages are. Make use of the advantages and make use of your challenges even more.
  • Break your challenges down into separate sentences : Once you break down your challenges, you will know what to expect from yourself to get through the challenge. When you expect only from yourself and not the outside world, you end up fulfilling your expectation.
  • Now look at how you can solve each challenge: You know your challenge and issue, then you should know what the solution is. The moment you know the issue, you will know how to solve it step by step.
Try doing this with respect to your fitness goals in addition to your other goals. Maybe, you want to lose 10 kilos before a wedding? Or maybe, you want to run a Full Marathon by June? Whatever it is, try it out and conquer it!
