Case Studies

Gaps in Coach-Athelete communications

An athlete of 23 years of age came to me, facing the challenge of not having enough motivation to train post-COVID. He had stopped training or even working on his fitness regime. He had his world championships coming up and wanted to work on it.

During the assessment, it was noted that we had to work on getting his focus back. We also had to work on getting his emotional regulation and self-confidence up. The intervention involved working on his self-image and self-esteem and also his emotional cycle. We also worked on stimulating tough situations through visualisation and work on reframing his emotions.

Currently he is ranked No. 4 in his sport globally.
